PERSONIFICATION [April rain Song bY langhst0n hughes]

As most of us know personification is giving human qualities to things that aren't humans. I just read Langston Hughes' poem APRIL RAIN SONG and most of it was about personification.

Langston Hughes shows in the poem that he loves the rain and he wants the audience to enjoy it too.



Like "LET THE RAIN KISS YOU" Rain don't really kiss people he just tried to say let it touch your lips or whatever. He also said "LET THE RAIN SING YOU A LULLABY" We all know that that the rain don't sing either.

mY MeMOrial DAy weekeND inSider

Over the memorial day weekend i didn't do much of ANYTHING. Its just my typical Saturday and Sunday morning routines. Wake up, take a shower, clean my room and help out in the kitchen... yeah that's some of it. But... on Monday i was happy because I got a frEEkin Ipod tOUch yes TOUCH. Automatic touch!

If i was to do anything i could have done i would have called my friends and we could have gone to a barbecue yesterday. COuldn't do that because i alrEady had plans. hmm... i also could have gotten a plane tickeT and visit my cousin in Paris, France bonjour eeY?

THE LION KINg s0o fun!

Yesterday me and the other handpicked students form our 8th grade team went on a trip to Broadway minskoff theater to watch THE LION KING. This was really my second time going to see the lion king since 3rd grade. Before we went there we went to the restaurant BBQ'S and ordered lunch. i Had some yummy BBq chicked with side of french fries... and cornbread... 0h that lemonade was delicious....! (hungry yet?) L0L


The lion king play was so interesting especially when they were singing and dancing. My favorite character was the monkey Rafiki because she was funny. The play was about how a lion named Simba is supposed to take over his father's throne when he gets older. The uncle Scarr is jealous of his brother's taking of the throne so sets up all this schemes with the hyenas. The hyenas were the dumb ones in this play. 0h Lets not forget Simone and Pumba . They also help guide Simba as he grew. There was also Love in this play. Simba's childhood friend Nala became his queen. WONT TELL YOU THE REST BECAUSE YOU SHOULD SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT. WINK WINK. =)

I recommend this b00k^^^ to anyone who likes reading realistic fiction and stuff about teen issues in real life. This book will steal your attention and you'll be reading it past your bedtime. The events that happened in this book sound so real its like you're reading the daily news. The main parts of the book are mostly interviews about before the events and after. If you don't like the b00k you'll regret it.....=)

Our teacher did a read aloud on the book "Begging For Change" and I thought of the authors purpose. I think the purpose of this book is to inform and entertain. The author wants to inform us about how Raspberry's life is messed up after her mother is attacked by a 17 year old. She's become a thief and that affected her relationship with her friends . The author entertains the readers when it comes to the time when Rasberry and Sato have their "romantic conversations." From all the events that happened you could tell that they like each other.

I was reading the book shooter and after i read it i gathered up information about the characters. I say that the conflict in this book is man vs man, man vs society and man vs self. The victim Len was always depressed all the time. He took drugs, and antidepressant medicine. When something happens to him like someone picking on him or getting on his last nerves he would put them on his "enemies list." Len also liked a girl Carla and he would often get on her case. Once he even posted her clinic info on the school website. Cameron is also another follow up person. He was also given antidepressant medicine before for vandalizing a church with Len. He always followed whatever Len did because that was his only friend...

SH00TER by WalTer DeaN MYerS [WHATS THE PURPOSE??]

i just finished reading the b00k and the rest was about the journal/diary that they found in Leonard's home. He talked about how him and hid friends Cam and Carla went shooting at ranges and that Carla always got on his case. The journal entry was kind of confusing because this dude Len does NOT know how to spell. HE actually spelled Tuesday- Toosday. yea.

i think the author's main purpose for that is to show the type of person Len was and how he lived his life before the event. His mother made him record his thoughts in a diary instead of keeping it in his head and being so dull. I also think that if Len was still alive he would really really need therapy more than Britney sPears.[just kidding=)] sO0 thats rEally that much it...

i just finished reading pgs 130-145. after i read the b00k i summed up everything to think of a theme. The theme of this b00k is learning to stop using guns and depression because thats what m0st of the interviews are based on. Besides the characters in this b00k went to the shooting range as a hobby. I think that gun violence is an issue in real life that needs to st0p. People that mess with guns learn their lesson fr0m it in pris0n 0r fr0m their graves. S0.. basically.. yea thats about it... =l

SHOOTER by wALTer dEAn mYers [SITUATIONS]

Today in my reading i read about the interview with Cameron. Cameron was asked about what happened the 7 days before the incident. Him and Len were going to blow up a dumpster at school by making Cherry bombs. The army uses that. So Len and him went to Len's father's job to get money and when they arrived his father was being yelled at by his boss. Len felt mad and embarrassed so he went home. I would have felt embarrassed if i saw my dad being chewed out by his boss but i wouldn't be so mad like Len was. Len was breathing hard and later he was always getting mad at Carla for nothing. He also called her a Tulsa which is a slut backwards.


Later on a Saturday Len called Cameron and was apologizing and everything and told him his plan on writing stop the violence in his blood in the school. Cameron was clueless but still accompanied him on his plan? Carla just went to open the doors for them in the school and once she got upstairs to where the boys were Cameron grabbed her and they both ran downstairs to go in the closet while Len was just shooting everywhere and screaming. How scary. Cameron and Carla were both safe though.

I think this book was just full of emotions just like a roller coaster. Up goes the anger down goes the depression straight goes the unusual and around is just stranger.[ LoL that was a rhyme catch. ] Thats all i read for today ...

SHOOTER by wALtEr DeAn MyErS so far tHIs wEEk...

This week I read about a boy named Cameron being interviewed about an incident that happened in Madison high school. He has been asked questions about what he do during his spare time and the events that led to the incident.

So all i know is that Cameron is an only child and his only real friend is a boy named Len who is not really social. Len was involved in the shooting incident too. Once him, Cameron, and Carla went to a shooting range at a park and shot at targets that were orange bags. None of them knew that they were shooting turtles in bags except Len. Len, Cameron, and Carla made their own group in school called Ordo Saggitae and they were identified as some kind of cult group. Creepy. I also know that Len liked wearing dark clothes and when they were being picked on in school by jocks Len made them on his enemy list. Cameron followed anything Len did since that was his only friend. When the jocks met up with Len to beat him up Cameron came along and Len had a gun under his jacket that nobody knew about. Luckily he didn't use it because Cameron came with him. Can't wait to see the results of the incident so far... =o

I am currently reading a book for our new unit BOOK CLUBS called "Shooter" and it describes the life of some students from Madison high school. There was a shooting incident in the school and the book starts with an interview with one of the friends Cameron Porter. Once I started reading I inference that the boy Cameron had something to do with the incident because this wasn't his first. He looked to me like a depressed and kind of a lonely person since he is an only child. So far all I read was an interview so... =o

sO loOng media unit and pEAce oOut!

Time to wrap up the media unit and go on to the next. We learned a-lot about the media and blogging. We made power point presentations and posted plenty of blogs about the lesson and our groups. I even learned how to better understand the media. Like inference, comparing and contrasting sites and questioning the text. I enjoyed this unit because we have not had other chances like this for like 2 school years and it was actually fun.

Nicole Richie recently had her baby girl for like 7 weeks with Good Charlotte's Joel Madden and she's so cute! Her name is Harlow Winter Kate. The name Harlow came from the names of their favorite actress and favorite model. Winter came from the season's name and they say that she's quite and calm just like it. And Kate was just a plain name.

Nicole Richie says her food cravings even changed and now she likes chocolate. Both Joel and Nicole are happy about their great gift and hope to make the best of it. that baby is so cute!

Inferencing/Grammys Are Here what R the Results?

At the grammys British-singer Amy Winehouse won a Grammy for best new artist and song of the year. She didn't cancel her performance when her visa was rejected so she performed live via satellite. She wasn't there to accept her award but Miley Cyrus and Cyndi Lauper both accepted it on her behalf.

Also Kanye West did and outstanding performance and when he won an award he payed tribute to his mom and dedicated his song "Hey mama".

Alicia Keys performed her number 1 hit single "No one" and won for for best female R&B vocal performance.

Beyonce performed with singing legend Tina Turner and it turned out great besides her almost toppling her over.

The grammy's turned out great but come on now somebody other than Amy Winehouse could have won that award. She's talented and everything but its other outstanding singers. Kanye West is a strong person too and his tribute to his mom gave tears to the audience I personally think that the john legend and fergie performance was boring and i can inference that the next grammy awards will be even more interesting and shocking.
P.S. miley cyrus dont you ever go back to the make-up person who fixed up your face for the show cuz hun --it wasn't working :(

Kirsten Dunst just recently checked into rehab at Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah the same place where Lindsay Lohan spent about two months. Eva Mendez also recently checked in too. The source says "she has been partying hard lately and the Heath Ledger death has been putting people over the edge." The following day after her partying Kirsten failed to go to her Glamour magazine party because she wasn't feelin well.


Kirsten has been crying a lot lately and I think that its a good thing she's getting help. She's been through a lot of issues in her celebrity life. At least somebody knows how to fix their life. You hear that Britney Spears? ^0^

Tyra was being held on a lie detector yesterday on her show and when asked if jealous of Oprah Winfrey she said "I think its ridiculous since Oprah had a show for twenty years and she was like the god mom no of course I'm not jealous!"
But... Tyra's answer was falsetto. After her answer has been denied Tyra said" She's really rich come on!"
Yea.. but now i think Tyra will be all over the web for lying on tv. Come on now she was just interviewed yesterday and now she'll be all over you tube and everything. These people who do need to know that anyone can be jealous of oprah winfrey so what difference does it make that tyra lied. 4 realz come on now...

Everything has been reflecting on Britney Spears from her drunken incidents and crazy talk. But what about Jamie? Where has she been all this time? The media sources asked Mr. Grandpa Spears here where have miss Jamie been all this time. It turns out that Lynne Spears their mom has been hiding her. She fears about Jamie's pregnancy. Nothing is changing hello? Its just getting bigger and bigger.

During the Paris Hilton-hosted pre Superbowl party 50 cent was performing for the party and him and paris are good friends. 5o cent gave her a shout out and she then statrted climbing onstage. For some reason she decided to start dancing and then 50's crew told her to get the f*** off the stage.
Little miss rich girl started crying and before the media sources got to her Page Six was already there catching the whole thing. She started whining saying that its her party. though 50 and paris are still good friends.

She can cry all she want she's just giving herself more attention. there's no point in crying dear paris but let me tell you something... gets a life. uh!
